MAST Carbon was originally the Carbon Group within the British Petroleum organisation, becoming an independent company in 1995.  It has grown since its establishment first as a Research and Development organisation and in latter years into a world class manufacturer of speciality grades of high surface area carbons.  Working with Blue Chip clients and national institutions it has established itself as a world player in innovative carbon technologies. 

Since its establishment the company has built up a strong patent portfolio for both materials and applications in a wide range of technologies utilising nanoporous carbons. Information on specific technologies can be found on the website.  

Into the future the Company will maintain its strong technology base by maintaining R&D as a core component of the company. Expansion will be by selective manufacture of high value low volume carbon materials and components.
